Make Sure Omega 3 Oils are a part of your regular Diet

Listen to Dr John talk on Health Matters about the benefits that Omega 3 oils play in your diet. Dr Tim Crowe from Deakin University joins Dr John to outline the essential role that these Omega 3 oils play in promoting good health. The benefits even include playing a role in reducing the risk of Macular Degeneration (MD) according to Dr Crowe.




The advice was to eat a diet that maintains a balance between foods that are rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6 Oils and this generally involves eating fish such as salmon and sardines two or three times a day.  For vegetarians and those who do not like eating so much the recommendation is that they consider taking an Omega 3 Supplement.


The CSIRO maintains a good Fact Sheet on the Benefits of the Omega 3 Oils to your diet and Dr John recommends those needing information about MD to access the Macular Degeneration Foundation website.
